Painter's Tape Masterpieces
Create a colorful modern masterpiece using a simple painter's tool that is usually used to keep paint out of an area — painter's tape! That's exactly the technique you can use to your advantage when creating your next art project.
How to use painter’s tape to make art
In our example, a canvas was painted one solid color and then left to dry completely before applying the tape. Next, stripes of painter's tape were attached from edge to edge of the canvas. Make sure to place pressure along the tape with your fingers to ensure that it is securely fastened to the canvas. You can create interesting shapes and patterns by criss-crossing the tape stripes.
When you are pleased with your design, paint each section a different color. You can set the tone of your piece with your color palette selection. Once you have painted each section as desired, let the whole painting dry completely. Then remove the painter's tape strips to reveal your next modern masterpiece!
