Hello, My Name is Bulletin Board
It’s a new school year, a fresh start, and a classroom full of new faces. It’s a time to get to know your students and for them to get to know you. Sharing some of your interests with your class is a great way to connect with your kids. A simple way to do this is with a bulletin board all about “YOU”.
Start by cutting out an oversized nametag and writing your name in the box.
Then come up with some general facts about yourself: what state you grew up in, your favorite flavor of ice cream, how many pets you have, etc.
For each fact, add YOUR photos or magazine clippings to represent items.
To make an interactive bulletin board
, turn the facts into questions. Put up multiple answers for each item. Ask the students questions such as “Who thinks my favorite ice cream flavor is __________?” It will get the class involved and give you a chance to interact and create conversation.
This “Hello My Name is” bulletin board theme is also a great way to have the students learn about each other. Incorporate a section with the question “What is unique about me?” Include a unique fact about yourself. Then have each student draw or bring in a photo to post on the board with a blurb about what makes them unique.
It’s a simple and fun way to kick off the year.
